Motherland is our gold; Heritage is our soul
We are within the sanctum of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sigiriya, exploring endless possibilities of contributing our might to greening the planet by reforestation of 100 hectares of barren land, with environmentally sensitive, invaluable Tectona Grandis, better known in Sri Lanka as Teak
In Sigiriya, in the North Central Province lies a hundred solid hectares of dry zone planted with pure lush green. In a previous barren arid land now you find Teak (Tectona Grandis) and African mahogany (Khaya Senegalensis) planted in rows, standing sentinel-like, in their green jungle garb, protecting Mother Lanka under a project of the Sri Lanka Forest Department in partnership with the private sector.
This reforestation helps to contribute towards ecological health of our planet by growing trees that are commercially valuable while they uphold sensitivity to our environment.
Da Vinci Group has stretched a hundred hectares to touch nature at its core, a hundred and one times, with sensitivity that will turn contagious. It is timely that we join hands with our governments in an effort to green the planet. This is our small but heartfelt contribution to the land of our birth, where the smiles and spirits of a people, are gathered together hand in hand, in unfailing camaraderie, to build an Asian wonder out of a broken but promising land.
